Wedding trends you can expect to see in 2017

With wedding bells ringing, we’ve got this year’s wedding trends on our radar to help you plan your big day.

Add this to your secret wedding Pinterest board! Did you know that when it comes to weddings in Singapore, Singaporeans love to gift food as wedding favours, and many couples would send out e-invitations on top of printed invitations? Bridestory, a leading online wedding marketplace in Southeast Asia, recently released the Singapore Wedding Trend Report for 2017. With data collected from over 1,500 brides and grooms, this report will definitely be a huge source of help if you’re planning to get hitched soon.

It seems that December is indeed the most magical time of the year. Christmas aside, most couples choose to get married in December, rendering it the most popular month to wed in. Moreover, Singaporean couples have proven to be independent and self-sufficient, with a majority (86.5%) of couples paying for their own nuptials. And if you thought venue and catering are expensive, it’s surprisingly normal – most couples spend 50 to 75% of their total budget on those aspects alone.

With pre-wedding photoshoot locations, most lovers prefer shooting at an outdoor space around the country, followed by shooting at picturesque venues overseas in countries such as Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Australia. Themes are also usually an important decision to make when managing the aesthetic beauty aspect of the wedding, but you can definitely play it safe with the top 3 themes of modern/minimalist, rustic, and green botanicals. Not only will your guests be wowed by the (hopefully) everlasting love between you and your husband-to-be, they’ll definitely be impressed by the jaw-dropping decor too!

Wedding planning can be seriously stressful. Time management is key – many pairs felt that they did not have sufficient time for proper planning. In addition, there are so many nitty-gritty details to worry over when it comes to wedding planning, so consult a professional about it, it’ll definitely take the weight right off your shoulders, and explore all the possible options to the best of your ability to avoid any more regrets. And just like that, wedding planning just got so much easier!
