Brand names are no longer a priority while style comes first in this initiative which will appeal to the discerning fashionistas in Asia.

No longer are women hankering after labels just for the sake of owning it. Today, sensibilities have changed and like you, we’re more attuned to developing a strong personal style and attitude that can be flaunted in whichever way – with or without brand names.

Singapore-based independent designers’ online boutique Inverted Edge and lux vintage e-tailer StyleTribute are bringing the concept of mixing high street with high fashion to the forefront with their very first collaboration. Lux Upcycling as they refer to it was beautifully illustrated in a series of looks that combines pre-owned and vintage luxury pieces with contemporary up and coming designers from Asia Pacific.

Styled based on specific style icons from the Woodstock era to fashion’s sweetheart, Kate Moss, the 7 looks were a mix of Chanel, Lanvin or Louis Vuitton with Asia Pacific designers like Twisted Sisters (Hong Kong) and Samantha Wills (Australia) – just to name a few.

The entire collaboration creates an affordable medium to discover designers and mix and match styles from all over the world. Price most definitely takes a backseat where StyleTribute’s items are at up to 70% off, Inverted Edge’s price points lie between 70SGD to 650SGD.

With Lux Upcycling customers are now given more options to play with their style and adopt versatile pieces that are complementary to their wardrobe. Ultimately, style is a timeless pursuit and whether vintage or modern, labels need not be the focus of your outfit.

Honestly as long as we can look like Jackie Kennedy or Coco Chanel, we’re already sold on the concept. We say bring on the mish mash and break down the barriers between high street and high fashion!
