Best Dressed: Lady Gaga
Singer-songwriter turned actress of American Horror Story: Hotel Lady Gaga stuns while looking very modern Hollywood glamour in this dress by Brandon Maxwell.
Best Dressed: Giuliana Rancic
As she hosted the red carpet, Entertainment News host, Giuliana Ranci walked the talk and didn't skimp on her own look as she elegantly took charge in a beaded Ziad Nakad gown.
Best Dressed: Jaimie Alexander
Blindspot actress Jaimie Alexander graced the event in a modest sequinned Armani Prive gown. The minimal accessorising and slicked-back hairdo are the perfect additions to complement such a statement dress.
Best Dressed: Charissa Thompson
Oversized florals on a monochrome palette always prove to be a timeless combo. Charissa Thompson sure knows how to look good effortlessly!
Best Dressed: Samira Wiley
Orange is The New Black actress Samira Wiley picked the perfect shade of pink on a contemporary toga gown for the night. Her short hairstyle give the dress all its deserving attention.
Best Dressed: Padma Lakshmi
Indian beauty Padma Lakshmi attends the Emmys for her reality competition, Top Chef. The television host is simple yet ravishing in a satin olive-yellow Romona Keveza dress which went seamlessly against her complexion.
Best Dressed: Sarah Paulson
Prabal Gurung did a great job of dressing actress Sarah Paulson for the night. The slinky sequinned off-shoulder gown gives a nod towards architecture-inspired fashion with its straight blunt band across the arms and chest. The navy blue shade is a refreshing take on what could have easily been a black dress.
Best Dressed: Taylor Schilling
Bright, airy and beautiful, Taylor Schilling glided on the red carpet in this backless pleated dress by Stella McCartney. The assymetrical neckline and barely-there strap are incredibly flattering on her petite shape!
Best Dressed: Ariel Winter
Modern Family's Ariel Winter looks all grown up in this bright red Romona Keveza gown. The structured neckline provides great coverage for the busty young starlet, while its form-fitting shape still shows off her hourglass silhouette. We especially love the classic oversized waves in her hair to match this look!
Best Dressed: Sofia Vergara
We guess Columbians can do no wrong. Funny woman and Modern Family star Sofia Vergara shows up in no less than her signature body-hugging silhouette, this time in the form of a metallic floor-length St. John piece.
Worst Dressed: Taraji P Henson
Where do we start? This Alexander Wang dress does nothing for the actress with its distasteful lace skirt and chainlink straps. Plus that cutout detail in her torso only adds to the list of too many things going on in one dress!
Worst Dressed: Nazanin Boniadi
This dress proves too severe for actress Nazanin Boniadi. Extremely covered up on one side and baring-it-all on the other? We're afraid that's just not how you do the assymetrical look.
Worst Dressed: Amanda Crew
Unfortunately this dress looks like it was made out of a very drab curtain fabric and may even remind you of vintage bone China. It may have looked slightly better without the adorning appliques across the chest and waist.
Worst Dressed: Caitlin Gerard
Did someone forget to do a fitting prior to the event? A few more nips and tucks in the armpit and adjustments in sleeve length might have moved this dress up to our Best Dressed instead!
Worst Dressed: Gwendoline Christie
We know nude is all the rage at the moment, but this is simply not how you wear the trend. A darker off-white shade or deep dusty rose would have gone much better against Gwendoline Christie's pale complexion. In this dress she looks a little too washed out.
Worst Dressed: Joanna Newsom
Singer Joanna Newsom attends the awards as her husband's date, host of the night Andy Samberg. While some on the Twitterverse have even remarked she brought her own chair to the awards (referring to the overturned-cup shape of the shorter skirt portion of the dress) we think there's just way too much going on in this Victorian-inspired gown. Choose one - it's either the statement chest piece without a distracting double skirt, or a statement double skirt without a distracting chest piece.
Worst Dressed: Porsha Williams
Again, too much going on. The layered assymetrical skirt is an elegant look, but the matching lace details on the hem and the bustier should really just be kept to one aspect of the dress, not both.
Worst Dressed: Teyonah Parris
We debated over this one for a while, because that frilly neckline is actually a great detail for the actress. But the oversized polka dots are what didn't do it for us.
Worst Dressed: Zoe Kazan
This actually reminds us of those milk-and-strawberry swirled hard candies we often ate as kids. The dress could have been saved if the pattern was left to attract attention on its own without the extemely un-matching silver neck detail.
Worst Dressed: Heidi Klum
While no one can dispute that ex-Victoria's Secret Angel Heidi Klum can rock a see-through dress like no other, we beg to differ on this particular Versace frock. We understand that it can get pretty hot in LA, but that's no excuse to wear what some on social media have dubbed a 'Big Bird lookalike'. We reckon this gown would definitely not make the cut on her show Project Runway.
