White Chicks (2004)
Upon committing a grave mistake at work, FBI agents and brothers Kevin and Marcus are given an ultimatum to prove themselves, which involves the protecting of heiresses Brittany and Tiffany Wilson, daughters of a mega-rich billionaire. When the two girls refuse to be seen by the public eye after getting into a car accident and receiving tiny cuts on their faces, Kevin and Marcus decide to cover the incident up by disguising as the two daughters themselves. The hilarious pursuits that follow make this comedy a favourite that never grows old.

The Conjuring depicts the paranormal activities that start to occur in the Perron household, after their move into a rundown farmhouse. Filled with suspense, thrill and several shocking scenes that will make you scream, cry and get your heart racing, this horror film is one you cannot miss. Don't worry, you'll have your partner to hold if you're scared... and maybe a third party too.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
This romantic drama adopts a non-linear approach to the structure of the plot to tell us the story of two lovers, Joel and Clementine, who have chosen to erase their memories of their relationship after a painful breakup. This film is a perfect example of life, love and second chances, and shows us that romance in reality may not always turn out how we believe it to be. All in all, a great movie that will teach you and your partner to cherish each other even more.

The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
This romantic drama tells the story of cancer patient Hazel Lancaster and cancer survivor Augustus Waters, and how the two of them fall in love. We see how these two young and intelligent teenagers hang on to hope and love despite their unfavourable conditions, and makes us more appreciative of the things that we have. Be prepared to shed lots of tears with your loved one over this extremely moving story.

Infernal Affairs (2002)
This is for the adventure-seekers who love a good crime and mystery movie to appease the detective in them. Hong Kong is known to produce some of the best crime films and television series, so this will definitely not disappoint. This show deals with several exciting elements like gangsters, death and drugs, and will keep you on your toes all the way till the end of the movie.

Saving Private Ryan (1998)
The fact is, majority of women don't usually watch war films, possibly because they can be difficult to psychologically digest and because the topics of war or army life may not be entirely relevant to us. However, if watched with a partner who has gone through National Service, war films can be a lot more interesting accompanied with explanations about the army. Try watching this award-winning film for a start, and you'll realise that war dramas aren't as boring as they might sound.

Besides the unique and intriguing storyline this musical offers, featuring a phantom being infatuated with an opera singer, what really makes this musical stand out is its stellar soundtrack that, when listened to using surround-sound, will no doubt break out the goosebumps. Let the music delight you as you enjoy the grandness of a musical, right in the comforts of your own home.

Avatar (2009)
There's a reason why this movie alone has set over 50 box office records upon its release worldwide. From the production of the storyline, to the creation of the language of the Na'vi, to the fine-tuning of visual effects, the impeccable details of Avatar are probably what made it such a popular film, even to this day. If you haven't watched it, you're seriously missing out on some good stuff. And if you have, there's no harm at all in watching it again.

À la folie… pas du tout (2002)
This French psychological-thriller goes by the title He Loves Me... He Loves Me Not in English, and tells of the story of a young girl named Angélique who is in love with married doctor Loïc. She is convinced that Loïc will leave his wife for her, and continues pursuing him, only to be abandoned at the airport when prepared to leave the country with him. However, the plot is not as simple as it sounds, and the only way to get to the truth of the story is to watch the movie for yourself. Trust me, you're in for a real treat!
