Here are some natural remedies for intestinal problems

Painful cramps, pulling sensation, gurgling, diarrhoea? Here are some remedies with plants, essential oils and homeopathic treatments that relieve pain.

A TOO HECTIC LIFESTYLE EQUATES to DAMAGED INTESTINES

Consequently, we have contracted intestines and feel a tight sensation in this area. Besides the cramps, constipation, diarrhoea or a combination of all will surface rather frequently.

THE PHYTOTHERAPY PRESCRIPTION

“The gentian regulates the digestive motricity and the lemon balm exercises an antispasmodic action which improves the intestinal functional disorders”, notes Doctor-Herbalist Eric Lorrain. “To limit the associated stress, marry these with the passion flower, which has proven painkilling properties for psychosomatic disorders.” If the pain is persistent, massage your stomach clockwise with 2 drops of essential oil of tropical basil diluted in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (sesame, hazelnut). If it is rather a problem of an irritable colon, choose peppermint essential oil. Australian researchers of the laboratory Nerve-Gut demonstrated in April 2011 that it acts directly at the level of the colon and ‘cuts off’ the pain message sent to the brain.

THE HOMEOPATHIC PRESCRIPTION

To relieve cramps, take Magnesia phosphorica 5CH (3 times a day).

THE FOOD STRATEGY

Consume magnesium, which favours the nervous system balance and enhances serenity; thereby protecting the intestines against stress. An abundance is found in wholemeal bread, dried vegetables, spinach, cabbages, walnuts, seafood and seaweeds. Otherwise, take 2 tablets a day of Magnesium UPSA for a continuous action for 8 hours or of D-Stress from Synergia laboratories.

TIP

To dissipate nervous issues, breathe deeply from the abdomen for five minutes upon waking and before bedtime.
