Tidy Tips: How to keep your desk neat and organised?
mis à jour le 14 July 2015 à 18:30Is you office desk piling up with notes, stationary, mailers and unnecessary mess? Well, here are ways to keep it clutter free and sure maximum productivity.
We completely understand the concept of an organised mess. We do, but your cubicle mate and co-workers might not. You may know exactly where everything is...ish, but it would help tremendously if everything had its own place now wouldn't it? Everything doesn't have to be impeccable, just organised.
If you're not too sure where to start, here are a few tips to put you on your way to a mess-free workplace.
FILING SYSTEMS
Having proper folders and files to keep all your important documents sorted out by project name, client name or company name would make finding your data so much easier the next time you need it instead of having to sift through a pile of paper on your desk.
DUSTBIN ON HAND
Sometimes having the bin right underneath your desk would be the best answer to your laziness. Not having to get up and dump your items in a communal bin would make cleaning up so much easier. No more food wrappers or half drunk cans of Coke lying around.
PEN HOLDER HELP
Get a simple cheap pen cup to stick all your stationary in. That way you don't have to sift through your entire desk to search for a pen, it's right there in your pen cup. Just remember to put the pens back in the cup. That's the trick.
PIN IT UP
If you need to be reminded of something extremely important or you don't want to lose a post-it note, get some thumbtacks and pin it to your cubicle wall. If you can't, get a cork board and pin away. You can also pin a few momentos to the board to personalise it. Talk about a real life Pinterest.
WEEKLY SPRING CLEAN
To keep your desk clutter under control, make sure you spring clean every week. Use the pockets of down time you have to clean up your desk instead of popping out to the pantry for a snack. Your waistline and your co-workers will thank you.
