Turn up the heat on your next date night with this simple yet eye-catching makeup look. We’re sure that this will help to amp up the romance factor.

When it comes to date night, effortless makeup never fails to compliment any outfit. It is also an opportune moment to break out of your usual routine and try something new. However, not everyone has the luxury of time on their hands. Well, to make things simpler for your, we’re going to redefine date night makeup with these 5 steps for the everyday female on the go.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THAT BASE

If you want your base to look as flawless as possible, less is definitely more. Instead of opting for a full face of foundation, mix your foundation with tinted moisturizer in a 1:1 ratio. This creates a lightweight formula that will give you adequate coverage without being heavy. It allows your skin to show through yet creates a more polished base.

TRY A SUBTLE SMOKEY EYE INSTEAD

If you’re a makeup beginner or do not have much time on your hands, opt for a subtle smokey eye instead of going for a full-on smoked out eye look using tons of shadow. A subtle smokey eye simply tones down the intensity of the look without taking away much smoulder. Start off by applying a grey shadow all over the lid area, then apply the same shadow in your crease area but increase the intensity (to do so, simply pat the colour more and blend using windshield wiper motions).

Instead of using a liquid liner, line your eyes with a kohl kajal and smoke out the line created. You could even use a Q-tip to smoke the edges out. This creates the illusion of a slight cat-eye effect. To complete the look, use a satin champagne eye shadow or even your favorite illuminator to highlight the brow bone and inner corners. This helps to draw just the right amount of light to your eyes in the midst of a smoldering eye look.

DON’T SKIP THE MASCARA

Mascara helps to add depth to the grey eye shadow and adds dimension to your lashes. Embrace your natural lashes and coat them with even brown mascara for a softer look. Opt for a waterproof mascara formula lest you get happy-teary eyed on date night.

SKIP THE BLUSH AND OPT FOR BRONZER

Keep those contour palettes aside for the night and warm up your complexion with a bronzer. A bronzer should only be a few shades deeper thank your actual skin tone. Anything darker and it might look ashy or muddy. Apply the bronzer to your cheekbones, on your temples, collarbone and slightly on your cheeks with a light hand. This gives off the appearance of a naturally radiant complexion.

ACHIEVE A KISSABLE POUT WITH A LIP TINT

A natural flush of colour on the lips is easily achievable using a lip tint. Even if the colour wears off, you can simply reapply, even with your eyes closed.

Date makeup isn’t as difficult as it’s made out to be, now is it? While the makeup completes the look, the actual start of the night is you. So go on and shine with this pretty look and personality of yours.
