When Christian Louboutin announced that he would be dipping his expert fingers into the realm of beauty, everyone’s heart skipped a beat as they saw the brilliance that was the spiked-top bottle of nail polishes in his signature red hue. Now if that was enough to make minds go into a tizzy, what would an equally covetable range of lipsticks do? Cue fainting spells perhaps?
That’s right, the designer has just unveiled his very expansive (& expensive) collection of 38 lipsticks that will be retailing at USD90 a pop (approx. SGD125) and are set to become the epitome of a dream beauty product. Divided into three different textures – Silky Satin, Velvet Matte and Sheer Voile — the gorgeous hues are inspired by Louboutin handbags and shoes, while the impeccable design itself takes notes from Babylonian antiquities, Queen Nefertiti of Egypt, and Art Deco elements.
Also, beyond simply swiping the luxurious bullet across your lips, the decadent item could even be accessorised around your neck, giving it easy access for touch ups on the go – thoughtful as always Mr Louboutin. As for us, our eyes are definitely set on the signature Rouge Louboutin shade that’s exclusively encased in a sleek black tube, inspired by the iconic and irresistible red Louboutin hue of course.
