When it comes to lipstick trends, the matte formula is always talked about. It has been about 7 years since the trend re-appeared on the runways and it is still going strong. From matte lipsticks to even matte eyeshadows, the trend has taken the beauty world by storm.
What we love about the formula is how long wearing and pigmented they are. A gripe though would be the dryness they bring along with them. Matte lip products lean on the drier side and may flake if you do not exfoliate your lips often. A good exfoliant will turn your puckers into a smooth canvas for pigmented lipsticks to glide on. It will also allow the lip product to stick on for longer. Once you’ve exfoliated, do remember to moisturize your lips with a lip balm of your choice.
