Shine-Free: The 10 best moisturisers for oily skin
updated the 27 November 2015 à 10:31Don’t make the mistake of not hydrating your oily skin.
If you have oily skin, the biggest mistake you can possibly make is not moisturising your skin. Moisturising an oily face may seem like a counterproductive step. However, most oily skins are actually dehydrated and producing oil to make up for lack of moisture.
In order to control the oil-balance, it is imperative that you moisturise at least twice daily with the right moisturiser. For oily skin types, the best bet is to opt for a light formulation rather than a heavy cream. When shopping for moisturisers, look out for keywords like oil-free, gel and lotion. If you suffer from really shiny skin, look for mattifying formulas.
The best moisturisers feel calming and cool on your skin. Look for a moisturiser that is water-based, non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. If it is not labeled as such, you can figure it out just by reading the ingredient list. Dimethicone is a common component of such moisturisers. Not only does it moisturise, it also controls grease and shine. For acne sufferers, look for salicylic acid, which helps to unclog your pores.
