Not sure where to start when it comes to choosing the right sunscreen formulas adapted to the age of your children? Here’s a quick guide.

When you bring the whole family to the beach, your kids are going to want to spend plenty of time in the water or building sandcastles by the shore. After all, the beach is a huge playground for them! It is up to you to protect them from harsh UV rays with suitable sun protection!

The rules to follow!

Ensure your child avoids sun exposure as much as possible during the hours when the sun is most intense — that is, usually between noon and 3pm. During this time, when the sun strikes the strongest, let them take advantage of some activities in the shade such as indoor games, reading, or having a nap.

Before going out, ensure your children are well protected with kid-friendly sunscreen, especially on areas of the body that aren’t covered by clothing. And be sure to reapply every hour, and after they get wet (for example, after exiting the pool). Do not forget to equip them with a hat, sunglasses and anti-UV clothing — their skin is so delicate! Keeping hydrated is also very important, so make sure they are drinking enough water.

Regarding sunscreen, choose formulas adapted to the age of your children, and read the instructions carefully as there might be certain sunscreens that are unsuitable for babies under the age of 3. Also, select products that provide convenience and practicality, such as sprays for easier application, especially if you have impatient kids that can’t sit still! The formula must also be ultra-resistant to water and sand.

We’ve rounded up a few kid-friendly sunscreens in the gallery above for your consideration! Now the whole family can head back to the beach without fear!
