We don’t say it enough but it’s not good to wash your hair every day. So here’s how you can style your hair before your next shampoo day.

There is no way that you’re going to leave your hair down tarnished by an excess of sebum. So what’ the secret to gaining one or two days before your next shampoo, you ask? Opt for attractive, glamorous rock, retro or slightly disheveled hairstyles and all you need is a few tools of the trade. Here we have Rishi, a Paris-based hairdresser to gives us some tips.

GIVE LIFE TO FINE HAIR

Excess sebum is the worst nightmare for those with fine hair. There are plenty of styling products to create the perfect illusion of a voluminous and sexy mane. Get a comb to crimp your hair at the roots. Flip your hair over and spritz on a voluminising spray. Or have your dry shampoo by your side, whether in powder, spray or diffuser form, dry shampoo stands out as the ally for girls in a hurry. Besides its refreshing or concealing effect, it enhances your hair texture and allows for numerous ‘messy’ hairstyles.

OPT FOR THE MESSY PONYTAIL

Hair that has been pulled back too much can give the face a severe appearance. The style looks much better if the ponytail begins at the top of the head, in a wise studious style. However, we prefer to opt for the wild and messy ponytail by either using a texturising powder to ruffle up the roots and mattify the oily area or by working on the length of the hair and giving it a voluminised wavy beach hair effect.

Avoid

– Using any kind of styling products. Forget hair wax and gels if you want an attractive messy hairstyle. They will exacerbate the ‘oily’ effect.

– Wetting your roots again. It would be better to just wash your hair!

– Combing your hair with a brush that has plastic teeth. Exchange it for a brush with mixed hair so as not to mistreat your hair fibre.
