Keen to try the most talked about beauty trend? Here are some makeup tips you should consider first.

Have you been hearing all about bleaching your eyebrows? Well, the trend of faded eyebrows can instantly turn a casual look a lot more wiser, so we can imagine why you would want to give it a whirl. But if you’re afraid to jump on the bandwagon straight on, here are some tips by makeup artists that you should heed before reaching for the bleach.

Karim Rahman, makeup artist and expert at L’Oréal Paris: “I’m a fan of the bleached eyebrows. It looks beautiful on the runways and in photos. In real life, we need to make sure we create the look properly though – no cutting corners.”

Emma Jacomacci, makeup artist at Urban Decay: “Play the 90s rock side by opting for dark lips (burgundy or plum) or contrast the bleached brows with a smoky eye.”

Tip: If you want to create the look for a special occasion, first apply a makeup base to smooth and flatten the hair, then cover the eyebrows with foundation or concealer to lighten them. You need to ensure the concealer is creamy and not too heavy – so that it doesn’t look like a whole lot of gunk is resting on your brows. The key is to have a light hand.

After that, all you’ll need is some powder in a similar light shade to top off and voila!
