Red carpet looks are hard to get right sometimes, and these blunders only serve to prove the point.
To err is human… Except for the stars who are always in the limelight that a slight misstep is unforgivable. When they make mistakes, everyone knows and nobody forgets. Their most dramatic looks are immortalized and automatically scrutinized. If the red carpet is a temple of glamour, it is also the place of irreparable tests.
The only exception is Lady Gaga who made her excessive styles a trademark. There’s no risk for her to become the laughingstock of Hollywood. For others, however, some things should be avoided, as much as they try to make it work.
While some like Angelina Jolie or Jessica Biel are gently mocked, others cause real scandals. This is the case of Uma Thurman in a red carpet appearance early this year. She arrived looking so unrecognizable that many believed she had resorted to cosmetic surgery. The biggest culprit was in fact a makeup mistake.
