Just because your feet are tucked away in shoes, it doesn’t mean you should ignore dry skin. Not taking care of your feet can result in painful sores. Here are some expert tips on repairing unwanted cracked heels.

How to repair cracked heels?

Sign up for a loyalty card at the podiatrist. Go there every six weeks for a foot checkup. At home, give yourself one hour a week to pamper your feet and prevent the accumulation of dead skin cells.

– Say goodbye to corns by using a coarse foot scrub. Take a small amount in your hands and rub it onto your feet. Concentrate the rubbing around the rougher areas. This method would be less abrasive than the use of a foot scraper.
– Cover your feet with a warm wet towel to open clogged pores. Leave the scrub on for 10-15 minutes for better results.
– Remove the excess scrub with the towel.
– Apply a rich cream to soothe the area but opt for a product with shea butter ingredients.

Pro tips:

A good foot cream is not nourishing enough to clear cracked heels. For optimum results, let your skin absorb the cream. Put your feet in the air and forget about wearing socks!

What about foot rasps and scrapers?

Unlike manual exfoliation, these tools put pressure on the heel and contribute to the decrease in blood flow. In addition, these tools rarely coat the entire foot evenly…leaving behind some dry areas.
