If you have no time to rush to the salon, here are some tips to cover those pesky roots courtesy of colourist, Rodolphe.

If you can’t head to the salon just yet, we’ve enlisted the help of colourist, Rodolphe to give us some tips to covering up and hiding those roots in between appointments. Just be sure to keep this by your side!

Camouflaging your roots

A little: If your hair is brown or auburn, create the illusion of dyed hair by covering it up with brown mascara. Moisten the wand with thermal water spray and then coat it over the exposed roots.

A lot: Use a good touch up pen that is long lasting and covers up brilliantly. With the pen you can be more precise with application as well.

Or reach out for special tinted sprays for roots. Spray onto dry, styled hair and the colour will stay on till your next shampoo. It sprays a lot like a lacquer and will create a lightweight finish.

White hair

Change your hairstyle to hide the white hair. A side parting rather than the middle, or create a fringe. The last thing to do is pull your hair back, as that will highlight the white hair along the face.

Backcomb to create the illusion of lesser white hair on the roots – thanks to the volume it creates. This works specially on the back of the head and near the ears.

Accessorise to hide the white hair. Scarves, headbands and bandanas will not only accessorise your outfit but will also conceal the white hair on the edges and on top of the head.
