It promises clean, matte and shine-free skin – but how did the latest Zero Sebum line from Etude House fare? Here’s our review.

Surviving a full day without a shiny T-zone is quite a feat for a person who has oily to combination skin. And the humid Singaporean weather makes it all the more worse. Hello, shiny face!

Korean beauty brand Etude House heard our cries and introduced their newest Zero Sebum line of product that helps reduce sebum and oily skin problems like acne or enlarged pores. There are many products formulated for oily skin out in the market but some of them can be a little too drying, which causes even more sebum production.

The skin produces excessive sebum when your face is too dry, so contrary to popular belief, people who have overly oily skin actually have dry skin.

So we couldn’t wait to try this range which promises to solve the problem of sebum without drying out our skin.

Zero Sebum White Sebum Clear

Apply this solution on your nose and T-zone area after your essence and watch the sebum melt away. It left my skin matte and smooth thanks to the sugar polymer ingredient which absorbs the sebum and give a nice powdery finish.

All in all, it kept my T-zone shine free for the next few hours without blotting.

Zero Sebum All-Day Matte Gel

This gel is super light weight and absorbs quickly into the skin. It gave my face a nice matte and shine-free finish that lasted all day. No blotting or dabbing at my makeup needed with this gel beneath it. I was pleasantly surprised indeed.

Zero Sebum Drying Powder

This product was my favourite out of the entire range. I replaced my normal translucent powder with this drying powder and it did the job perfectly. It does not give my face an overly white cast but mattifies it almost instantly. The powder settles into the pores and fades away to a slight dewy finish by mid-day. Perhaps my skin was oilier than other people’s but it did a good job keeping it shine-free for the most part.

I am definitely replacing my loose powder with this – and finally saying goodbye to shine!
