The child model-turned-runway superstar shows us how to work a bold cat-eye look at the anniversary party of one of the biggest makeup giants.

As the new face of Maybelline, Gigi Hadid was the main star at the cosmetic brand’s 100th Anniversary Party in Toronto last week. All eyes may have been on her polished white suit look but we couldn’t help but notice the runway favourite’s lashy, bold liner look. What a way to celebrate 100 years of the American beauty house!

To recreate the look, follow Gigi’s lead in a sheer, almost barely-there foundation and start with a BB cream or light-coverage foundation and apply with your fingers all over the face. Brows are kept natural and brushed upwards, so no complicated techniques needed there. Most of the all-over glow comes from strategic placing of highlighter and light-reflective products, so apply a slightly shimmery pink shadow to the crease.

For more control, pick a black gel eyeliner and apply with an angled brush to get the perfect flirty flick, extending up and out towards the eyebrows. With a pigmented, creamy white eyeliner, follow the shape of the black line and lay it down steadily on top. Tweezers or a lash applicator can help you finish the eye look by adding a pair of dramatic false lashes with longer outer corners. Apply mascara and pinch lashes to blend your natural ones to the synthetic ones.

Powder here is optional, so give a light dusting to the T-zone if you know you might be shiny throughout the day. Swirl a soft pink blush onto the cheeks with a light hand and pat or swipe a muted mauvey-pink lipstick that won’t compete with the eyes.

And you’re all done to get some heads turning!
