FOTD: Suzy of Miss A at Cheongdam-dong Burberry flagship store opening
K-Pop gets a mature take on makeup.
Some of South Korea’s biggest names in music, fashion and entertainment turned up at the Burberry flagship store opening at the wealthy shopping district of Cheongdam-dong last week. Our eyes may have been distracted by all the clothes displayed on each star, but Miss A’s Suzy caught our attention with her arresting and effortless makeup look for the night.
The girl group singer had skin that looked so luminous that she didn’t seem to have even a drop of foundation on. But knowing full well of the Korean skincare regimes and makeup routines, we reckon she had layered plenty of moisturising products to achieve the perfect dewy look, topped off with strategic placing of foundation or lightweight BB cream. We decided to go for a colour-correcting balm by Olay that’s infused with SPF 15, giving the skin a healthy sheen while maintaining decent coverage with the use of a dense powder brush.
Skip the powder to keep the plump look in the skin, and sweep on a soft flush of pink onto the cheeks. Natural, slightly arched brows are what you should achieve here as seen on Suzy, using a double-ended pencil and spooly combo to get the perfect frames to the face. Tight-line the upper lash line with a liquid eyeliner at the root of the lashes and you’ve got enough definition to forgo mascara for the night.
Lastly, don’t forget a bright orange lip stain for the youthful K-Pop-ready look.
