Dewy skin
Dewy skin is basically the no makeup look with a Korean twist. A natural and radiant sheen is preferred to the caked-in-foundation look. Most Koreans achieve the dewy skin look using, what else, but BB cream and an illuminator.

Pastel eyeshadow
Korean makeup is all about looking sweet, cute and fresh and no where is this more evident than their choice of eyeshadow colours. Korean women are not afraid to wear pastel hues in pink, blue and peach on their eyes, and it certainly is a welcome change from the harsh colours of black and brown.

Straight eyebrows
Perfectly shaped or arched eyebrows may be on point in the West but in South Korea, straight brows are the only shape that'll get you compliments. This gives the face a more natural and innocent look which is big in Korea.

Gradient lip
Women in South Korea have long been experimenting with ombre lips by mixing two lip shades together. Laneige caught on to the trend and launched their two tone lip bar and now everyone from your sister to the next-door neighbour is sporting the look.

Pink/Peach lipstick
By now you would have come to the conclusion that Koreans are all about makeup that looks as natural as possible which means a bold lip is not something you'll see often on K-pop stars. Koreans are more fond of pink or peach shades that goes well with the whole dewy skin look and does not wash out their complexion.

The K-Pop world churns out beauty trends just as fast as they pump out K-pop idols. Long before the BB cream craze, which put Korea firmly on the world’s beauty map, K-pop stars were setting their own trends, which in turn inspired the big cosmetic companies to come out with some of the beauty world’s most innovative products. Korean celebrities are known for their fresh, dewy skin, pastel baby doll make up and gradient lips. Their willingness to experiment and paint outside the box has certainly put them on the forefront of emerging beauty trends.
