Featuring three industrious young women, Clinique launched their #FaceForward campaign that encourages women to focus on their ambitions and achieving success no matter what.
As the industry moves towards celebrating real beauty, brands are fast forgoing traditionally beautiful models in favour of strong, inspiring women who possess qualities of beauty that go deeper than the skin.
This time around we have skincare mammoth, Clinique jumping on the bandwagon by roping in Tavi Gevinson, Margaret Zhang and Hannah Bronfman as ambassadors of their #FaceForward campaign, that centers around the now iconic 3-Step Skin Care System. Gevinson who rose to fame with her quirky style sense from a tender young age of 11 is now an actress, Editor-in-Chief of Rookie and a downright industrious woman at 19. Zhang on the other hand is a 22 year-old Australian blogger, stylist, photographer and law student who never fails to soldier on in her path and tackle obstacles as when they come, with sheer tenacity of course.
As with Gevinson and Zhang, Bronfman also boasts of an equally illustrious career. The 26 year-old DJ, model and entrepreneur launched the Beautified app in 2010 that books last minute beauty services, runs her lifestyle blog, HBFit, walks down several runways and spins pulsating tracks at various gigs. So what's the common denominator amongst the triumvirate? They're all multi hyphenates.
Evidently these three young individuals make for exceptional role models to the dynamic millennial group, and beyond by serving as example of how it's never too early to start making waves. The global campaign by Clinique similarly encourages women to dedicate their time to carving out career paths and accomplishing ambitions while at the same time considering what advice their future selves could potentially benefit from.
So at a time where our feeds are constantly inundated with images of airbrushed faces and unbelievably perfect skin, it's refreshing to see an international brand take the bold step forward with an enlivening campaign that proves success run deeper than the surface.
