Watch 100 years of Indian beauty in two minutes

Heading to India in their next installment, Cut just released a remarkable journey into Indian beauty – some of which was inspired by Bollywood actresses.

Ever since the video production company, Cut, released the very first episode to ‘100 Years of Beauty‘ with USA as the country in focus, everyone has been sitting up to see which country is next on their beauty evolution journey.

Now, in its 7th episode, the team settled on India to deliver a stunning portrayal of Indian beauty over the years, starting from the 1910s. In under two minutes, the video sees Trisha Miglani, a dancer and student at the University of Pennsylvania transform from the veiled and subtle makeup of the 1910s to the dramatic cat liners in the 60s and the massive braids of the 80s. Moving into the 2000s and 2010s, makeup is remarkably pared down but looked radiant nonetheless – which is also consistent with a bunch of the other country-focused videos from Cut. Evidently, it’s all about being minimalistic.

Incidentally, the transformation also takes inspiration from some of Bollywood’s leading actresses such as Aishwarya Rai and Sharmila Tagore, especially in their glamourous times on the screens as the times evolved.

It’s safe to say that this was a brilliant and enchanting take on Indian beauty!
