Girl Power: 10 Books by our favourite funny women
updated the 6 October 2015 à 22:22Women aren’t funny? Don’t make us laugh. Here’s our roundup of some of the best belly-rolling books written by our favourite comediennes.
We couldn’t get enough of Mindy Kaling’s 2011 memoir “Is Everyone Hanging Out with Me?” and now, after four years it is finally getting a sequel in the form of Kaling’s new book, “Why Not Me?”
Kaling, who we all know as Mindy Lahiri from The Mindy Project, is one of the few women of colour starring in her own show. Her last book covered her childhood, breaking into Hollywood and her time as Kelly Kapoor on The Office. “Why Not Me?” follows the same lighthearted tone and discusses Kaling’s experiences with dating, friendship and body image. Lighthearted, funny and genuinely sincere, Kaling manages to sound like your chatty best friend even while name-dropping.
Kaling isn’t the only comedienne that can conjure up a bestselling book. Plenty of funny gals have let us into their lives by penning their own hilarious memoirs. We list 10 books written by our favourite comediennes turned bestselling authors.
