Food-fies & Selfies: A campaign for our favourite things

Let’s give it to Accor Hotels for dedicating a social media campaign combining two of our favourite things in life: selfies and food.

Quick poll: Are the two most common pictures on your phone gallery selfies and food snapshots? There is no need to be embarrassed if you are guilty as charged. In fact, you might even win a prize for it.

The Accor Hotels Asia Pacific Social Media Monitor revealed that last year, among the travellers who visually document their journeys, it was Southeast Asians who topped the list for capturing the most, with Philippines in first place, followed by Indonesia and Thailand. The findings also showed that both men and women take pictures of food more than any other object, including the self-loving selfie.

Playing on this fondness for food and leisure photography, Accor launched the ‘Savour, Snap, Share’ campaign on Facebook, Instagram and Weibo. All you have to do is hashtag your selfies and food-fies with #SavourSnapShare, if you happen to be at an Accor establishment in Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand or Vietnam. You have until March 9th to stand the chance to win vouchers, Accor Advantage Plus memberships, or the grand prize of a two-night stay at an Accor hotel.

What other better reward to record precious moments during our travels? Not like we need more reason to snap flattering selfies and mouthwatering delights though…
