From hiding in the bushes to watch his daughter after dropping her off on her first day of school to naming an island after her, Johnny Depp's love for his children melts our hearts. After his daughter recovered from a serious E. Coli infection in 2007, Depp also visited the hospital she was warded at to do a 4 hour-long reading in his Jack Sparrow outfit to express his gratitude!

He has royal blood
Did you know that Johnny Depp is the 20th cousin of the Queen of England? Don't worry, we didn't too. Apparently, both descended from Edward III, who passed away in 1377.

He is a rockstar
Besides an impressive track record in film, Depp is also an avid guitarist, having played in many garage bands and even dropping out of high school to pursue a music career! He has cameoed in numerous music videos, most interestingly as the Mad Hatter in Avril Lavigne's 2010 Alice.

He has humble beginnings
Believe it or not, Depp's first job after moving to Los Angeles was a telesalesman for ballpoint pens! According to Depp, though, he was a "terrible salesman" as he got customers not to buy his pens because he felt that the deal he had to offer them was a scam. Despite hating his job, it kept him off the streets.

Besides a private island, Depp also has his own vineyard in Le Plan-de-la-Tour in southeast France, where he grew grapes and had wine making equipment with his ex wife, Vanessa Paradis. Not only that, Depp also owns a restaurant-bar near the Champ Élysées!

Depp supports dozens of charities, most notably projects involving children and abandoned animals. He jams for charity concerts, autographs items for auction, and matches the donations his fan club, Johnny's Angels: Depp Fans for Charity, raises.
