Amy Schumer Opening Monologue
Oh snap! With the MTV Movie Awards as one of Amy Schumer's biggest hosting gigs yet, the comedienne sure did not leave any tables unturned with her opening dialogue. From targeting Kevin Hart to Hillary Clinton, One Direction and herself, the awards show was no doubt off to a fiesty start.
Watch out for those burns.

Shailene Woodley wins Best Female Perfomance
The young actress took to the stage to accept the award for Best Female Performance in The Fault In Our Stars, and took this chance to thank John Green, author of the novel, in her speech. Just like how the movie made millions of teens cry, Woodley's speech also got Green teary-eyed when she said, "I feel like this award belongs to John Green, who I'm staring at right now, because he gave this world a beautiful masterpiece: A gift in the book The Fault in Our Stars."

Channing Tatum twerking
The cast of Magic Mike XXL went on stage to present Jennifer Lopez with the Best Scared As Shit performance, only to get egged on to do the twerk - at least Channing Tatum was quite the sport and he's got the moves to prove it.

Vin Diesel sang ‘See You Again’
Now Vin Diesel may seem like the hunky macho guy who knows zilch about being sensitive but when he went on stage and sang his heart out, as a tribute to the late Paul Walker, our heartstrings were positively pulled tight.

“The last time I stood on this stage, it was with my little brother Pablo,” Vin said. Cue the tears and grab those tissues.

Dave Franco and Zac Efron
So the Best On-Screen Duo award went to Dave Franco and Zac Efron for their role in Neighbors (honestly we think it should have gone to Seth Rogen and James Franco but anyway) and they came on stage dressed as their characters. The entire little 'skit' got way too handsy by the end of it with Efron repeating the supposedly hilarious grabbing of Franco's crotch. Way to go comedy.

Robert Downey Jr
Perhaps, the bit that all Avengers fans were waiting for - Robert Downey Jr's acceptance of the Generation award. While his speech started off a little entitled, he also took the chance to get serious, "In the 34 years that have passed since the birth of MTV, I’ve grown up, I’ve struggled, I’ve failed. I’ve partied way too much. I begged for second chances and literally clawed my way to the top," before ordering his cast members to take a knee. After all, what Tony Stark wants, Tony Stark gets.

Amy Schumer’s archery fail
In a bid to emulate Katniss from The Hunger Games, Amy Schumer took out a bow and arrow on stage. But she failed and ruined the entire skit where the arrow was meant to hit Jimmy Kimmel.
Apparently she trained for 5 hours for this bit. Maybe next time Amy.

Bai Ling in dragon costume
Lastly, while we've already covered our best dressed stars on the red carpet, we couldn't rest without highlighting the Chinese-American actress' dragon ensemble. It's weird, it's maybe Game of Thrones-inspired but all in all, it's tacky.

Try harder, Bai Ling. A little less dragon and a lot more fabric could do the trick.

Think of MTV Movie Awards as the Oscars’ little sibling – the one that’s still experimenting with fashion, beauty and is one ball of a riot – and you’ll probably conjure up an apt enough image of the rapturous award show.

This year was no different with everyone’s favourite comedienne, Amy Schumer riling up the audience with her hilarious quirks and snide remarks. Her awkward bumbling self where she misfires an arrow or flies overhead like a superhero were no doubt cherries on top of her act. Whichever the case, she did one impressive job of getting everyone giggling – whether good or bad.

Then we had the meaningful speeches from the likes of Shailene Woodley who got author, John Green teary-eyed and Vin Diesel’s performance of ‘See You Again’ as a tribute to the late Paul Walker. Tissues mandatory here.
