Quite impressively, Taylor Swift is about to have one glorious 2015. From going on a crusade against Apple Music for royalty rates to be paid, to adorably cozying up with DJ, Calvin Harris and now leading the pack at the MTV Video Music Awards with a grand total of nine nominations, including one for Video of the Year (Bad Blood), she is on a roll.

Unfortunately for her though, the nominations also resulted in a little Twitter spat with rapper Nicki Minaj. What started off as Minaj questioning why her song, Anaconda – which reached meme status and broke video streaming records – was not nominated for Video of the Year turned into a huge kerfuffle with Swift misinterpreting Minaj’s tweets as being personal attacks towards her. One thing led to another and well, all we know is that you may just expect to see Minaj pull a Kanye and head up on stage to ‘accept’ her award.

As for the rest of the nominees, Ed Sheeran took the second spot with six nods, including Video of the Year for Thinking Out Loud, while Beyonce and Mark Ronson each took five nominations. Set to be hosted by the shock-inducing Miley Cyrus, it’s safe to say that this year’s VMAs will not be disappointing on the wacky point of things. And we’ll be tuning to catch everything that goes down by the minute.

Don’t forget to vote for your favourites at the official MTV website too!
