Here are a couple of social campaigns that aim to do good work and help the needy in our island state.

While a multitude of brands and enterprises overseas have made use of the power of social media to launch empowering and inspiring campaigns – most recently, Dove’s #ChooseBeautiful comes to mind – the number is far smaller in our very own island state. However, that’s not to say, there are none.

In fact, a slew of social campaigns have sprung up in recent years and most of which were conjured up in a bid to improve the lives of Singaporeans – be it through creating relationships with neighbours, giving to the needy or encouraging one to make the most of their time.

It’s entirely heartwarming to see that more and more Singaporeans are shedding their stereotypically passive nature and taking an active step forward to help those in need or raise awareness for important causes. So to prove that we’re not just a take-in-all-and-give-nothing-in-return bunch, here are 5 touching and inspiring campaigns that planted their seeds in Singapore and have grown for the better.
