Degrassi: Next Class
Degrassi has been known to produce alumnus that have hit it big: Drake, Nina Dobrev, Stephen Amell and Shenae Grimes, just to name a few, and they don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. When the third season ended, fans were left in anticipation of the next, and they have to wait no longer. Season 4 will begin streaming on 4 July, with a focus on the new batch of freshman and the graduating class that we all know and love.

Shadowhunters
Return to the land of the Downworlders as Shadowhunters returns to Netflix. For those who have not caught up, the series follows Clary Fray, who discovers she’s not exactly as human as she once thought. We are not going to spoil too much, but the 15th episode, set to release in July, will see an important character making a choice that could change the course of the whole show. Intrigued? Then don’t forget to stay tuned!

The Incredible Jessica James
The word ‘incredible’ is great, but it is simply not enough to explain how amazing Jessica James truly is. From the trailer alone, she has caught the attention of many with her bold personality that adds excitement in the most unexpected of ways. Watch as the aspiring playwright strikes up a friendship with a recently-divorced man and be prepared to be charmed with their charisma and their chemistry.

To the Bone
Though there has been much talk about the portrayal of mental health in the media and the negative repercussions that may follow, To the Bone has been unafraid of exploring the often-ignored topic of eating disorders. This is a star-studded cast, with Lily Collins, Keanu Reeves, and Lili Taylor set to make waves once the film is released. For those concerned about the controversial topic that this film surrounds, the director and Collins have both experienced anorexia in the past, which means that they have tried to ensure the film is as realistic without glamorising the disorder.

Friends from College
Starring Cobie Smulders and Keegan-Michael Key (from Key & Peele), is it any wonder that this comedy series is so highly anticipated? Premiering on 14 July, this eight-episode season will follow a group of friends from Harvard making their way into adulthood as they reach their 40s. The all-star cast is set to delight this July.

Castlevania
Those who are fans of the original video game will be thrilled to know Castlevania will be available on Netflix! Produced by Adi Shankar, who had previously expressed interest in creating a mini-series, the show has already been granted two seasons, with the first being released in July and the next in 2018. With Richard Armitage and Graham McTavish (amongst many others) as the voice cast, you would not want to miss this one.

Ozark
If you have fallen in love with Jason Bateman’s acting in Arrested Development, be prepared to be enchanted yet again with Ozark. The show follows the adventures of Marty Byrde, a financial advisor, who owes a Mexican drug lord money. As the lead, director, and executive producer of this, it’ll be interesting to watch how Bateman balances his role. And with that fantastic pilot out, expectations run high.

Chelsea Handler is known for her late-night talk show segments, and her weekly series on Netflix will grant you a closer view on this television personality. Every Friday night, prepare your wine, sit back, and enjoy her charming take on events. This will run for 30 weeks.

Based off the novel (and subsequent movie), Point of Impact, Shooter is set to return this July as well. Follow Ryan Phillippe’s Bob Lee Swagger, who is a retired Marine Corps Sniper that was sent back into the field after learning of a plot to kill the president. On 18 July, be prepared to enter the world of conspiracy and thrill once again.

Daughters of Destiny talks about the inspiring story of the Shanti Bhavan School, with a mission to educate people who normally do not (and cannot) have access to education. The impoverished children are brought into the school, which financially supports them all the way until they make it to college. Follow the journey of the poorest people in the country and witness how they try to break free from poverty. This will surely give you a new perspective on life.
