Oh yes. Netflix will be arriving on our shores sooner than you think!

If you’re a fan of watching television, we regret to inform you that your will power to buckle down and work or go to the gym will seriously be tested in 2016. For those who haven’t heard, Netflix will be making its descent to rule over the little red dot, and our lives early next year.

Just yesterday the subscription-based company said that the subscription fee would be about SGD11 (USD8), following the same price point as back in the States. They also mentioned that they would be looking into adding Asian content to our selection. Yes, that means Korean drama fans won’t be left out.

We appreciate the effort our local telcos have been making to bring us same day telecasts, but it’s not the same as having on-demand television. No longer will we have to rush home just to catch our favourite shows, or resist the urge to pirate and stream.

While we patiently await the arrival of Netflix, it won’t harm to start some preliminary planning. If you’re not sure what you’re going to watch first when Netflix launches, here are five original Netflix productions that you can definitely start with.
