Singapore’s newest contemporary art museum has finally thrown open its front doors. The best part? Free admission!

Singapore’s museum scene has a new kid on the block, in the form of the Parkview Museum Singapore, which will no doubt have contemporary art lovers all across the island swooning. Now open to the public, this private museum, taking up the third floor of the gargantuan art deco building Parkview Square, will host carefully curated exhibits that aim to strengthen the appreciation and understanding of contemporary art in Singapore.

The opening exhibition, titled On Sharks and Humanity, will appeal to conservationists, being part of a travelling global exhibition that addresses the critical importance of shark protection, ocean conservation, and the preservation of the marine ecosystem. With a slew of 33 works by 29 local and international artists comprising of large-scale installations, photography, sculptures and videography, this exhibition will prompt visitors to consider the environmental message behind the exhibit.
