Artisan Boulangerie Co. are planning on making a change, one sweet treat at a time.

With all the pressure to eat healthy, nutritious, and green nowadays, we’re all desperately trying to find ways to justify an unhealthy indulgence here and there. A long, stressful day at work is worth at least a chocolate bar, and getting caught in the rain on your way home is surely a good reason for a bag of your favourite potato chips, right?

Well, what better reason is there to indulge in some sinfully delicious baked goods then in the name of charity? For one full month, from 7 September to 7 October, Artisan Boulangerie Co. (ABC) will be teaming up with the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) to launch two specially designed CCF-inspired pastries. 70% of the proceeds will be donated to CCF, and used to help fund everything from casework and counselling services for children and families affected by cancer, to art and play therapy for sick children. Whoever thought that just by sating your desire for a tasty snack, you could be helping to provide much-needed support for children and their families battling against cancer?

On offer are two brand-new artisanal pastries, both baked fresh daily. Modelled after the Lyonese praline viennoiseries, the Compassion Swirl comprises a crisp, flaky croissant dough, topped with a vanilla cream and finished with a sprinkle of roasted almonds rolled in caramelised sugar. If éclairs are more your thing, the Hope Éclair takes the classic éclair choux shell to another level with a fragrant lemon cream filling, lemon fondant topping, and candied mini flower decor reminiscent of the CCF tulips.

Though the pastries are only on offer at select ABC outlets (Killiney, Great World City, Asia Square, Metropolis, VivoCity and Katong), pre-orders and deliveries can be made by contacting [email protected].

So, while your justification for eating a bag of cookies at lunch because you missed your train that morning might not hold up to scrutiny, nobody can question your indulgence in the name of charity! So head on down to ABC to enjoy some tasty treats, and do your part supporting a great cause.
