Urban Ventures – Vol. 2
When: Saturday, 30 April; 4pm – 10:30pm
Where: Keong Saik Road
Why: The public space of Keong Saik Road will be transformed into an art carnival, with art performances, creative workshops and interactive installations. Join the fray and spend your evening enjoying music, drinks and dancing. The event is free, so there’s no excuse not to bring all your friends and family to this street party!

Gallery After Hours
When: Friday, 29 April; 6pm – 12am
Where: National Gallery Singapore
Why: For the first time ever, National Gallery Singapore is collaborating with the Getai Group to bring you a whole host of Singapore’s most famous names in electronic music. Featuring acts by the likes of .gif, Linying and Evanturetime, you’ll be entranced by this spectacular line-up, performing live at the Padang Atrium.

Gallery & Co. French Wine & Cheese Tasting
When: Friday, 29 April; 6:30 - 10pm
Where: 1 St. Andrews Road, #01-05
Why: Are you a real foodie with a penchant for French delights? Head over to Gallery & Co. at the National Gallery Singapore to taste some of the most exquisite wines and cheeses. Talk to pairing experts while you sample and appreciate the offerings at this event. At SGD50 per head, you’ll want to make this an evening to remember.

Star Wars Day Singapore (#MAYTHE4THSG)
When: 30 April – 1 May
Where: OCBC Square, outside Kallang Wave Mall
Why: The Force is strong in May. The annual fan-organised celebration of Star Wars Day is back once again and as usual, expect great costume appearances by fans and enjoy illustrations done by talented artists who will be displaying their fantastic fan art. Parades and toys and all sorts of Star Wars-related paraphernalia will feature prominently at this event, so come dressed as Han Solo or Princess Leia and mingle with the Wookiees.

Don’t Play Play Band @ The Company of Cats
When: Friday, 29 April; 8 – 10pm
Where: The Company of Cats, 6B Mosque Street
Why: Don’t Play Play Band is proud to present a night of mando-pop rock with hints of western indie influences during their live music performance at The Company of Cats (yes, the cat café). While still fairly new to the local music scene, the band has already performed at several music festivals and cool venues like Timbre @ Gillman and LePark.

Pop Up Yoga: MBS Boardwalk

Farmers & Artisan Market

Where: Bollywood Veggies
Why: Held every last weekend of every month at the Bollywood Veggies farm in Kranji, this interesting market features some of the freshest produce in Singapore. Open to the general public with zero admission fee, it is well worth it to head down to the market to take a look at what is on offer.

J-Obsession

Why: Back for its 7th year, the J-Obsession event at The Cathay will bring you an awesome slew of fun activities for the otaku at heart. Featuring a cosplay competition (with the best dressed standing a chance to win prizes) as well as plenty of J-music by local J-music bands, you will not want to miss this crazy event.

Unleash your inner geek this weekend with Star Wars Day celebrations and the 7th J-Obsession event.

There are some super events lined up this week, especially since we’ve got a long weekend coming up. Great pop culture experiences like the official Star Wars Day celebration at OCBC Square and major otaku event J-Obsession at The Cathay will keep fans happy. At the same time, art and music lovers will enjoy wonderful performances at the fully transformed venue of Keong Saik Road as well as the National Gallery.

Yoga and meditation lovers, there’ll be a pop-up yoga class at the Marina Bay Sands boardwalk this Saturday evening, as well as a multi-sensory meditation session at Be Mindful Living, located along Erskine Road.
