Cinewa – Sundays With Japanese Cinema

Pop-Up Cat Cafe at The Garden Slug

Why: If you love furry felines, you’ll want to make a trip to The Garden Slug this Sunday afternoon to enjoy all things cat-related! Hosted by the volunteer-run Love Kuching Project, all proceeds from this event will go towards the work that they do - rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned kitties! From photo sessions with Love Kuching Project’s resident therapy cats, to a whole slew of cat accessories to shop from, this is one fund-raiser that all cat lovers shouldn’t miss out on.

Candour Coffee Grand Opening Party
When: Thursday, 21 July; 6pm
Where: Candour Coffee, 41 Beach Road
Why: Want to add a new cafe to your ever-growing list of places to chill? Candour Coffee might just be that new addition! The grand opening party will offer customers some delightful pastries and drinks. If caffeine is your thing, mark your calendars for Thursday evening and head on down to Beach Road! Why: As part of the Singapore Food Festival festivities, Timbre+ is throwing a variety of food-centric activities for the public to enjoy. Involving at least 9 different Timbre+ food partners and 5 invited chefs, there will be everything from televised food demonstrations to live music on stage for those who need to be entertained. Bring your family down to Timbre+ this weekend and indulge in some delicious local fare. Yes, admission is free!

Tanjong Goodman Weekend Market

Where: Goodman Arts Centre, 90 Goodman Road
Why: Singapore’s weekend market scene is starting to become pretty impressive. Here’s another fun one to add to the list! The Tanjong Goodman Weekend Market debuts on 23 July and it will turn the Goodman Arts Centre into an exciting flea market, complete with delicious food, awesome collectibles and arts and crafts. Love garage sales and need to find a bargain? This is the place to be!

Why: Featuring over 20 culinary partners, this annual celebration showcases the unique and culturally diverse landscape of Singapore’s culinary scene. Offering visitors a relaxed al fresco dining experience, there will be plenty of pop-up cafes and food trucks to feed your every foodie desire. You might even witness some cooking demonstrations and live music performances while you’re there!

Books & Brew #1
When: Saturday, 23 July; 4 - 7pm
Where: Curious Palette, 64 Prinsep Street
Why: Grab 10 pre-loved books and head over to Curious Palette this Saturday, where you’ll get to meet like-minded bookworms and swap, share and exchange stories about your favourite literary masterpieces. Part of the National Library Board’s READ! Fest 2016, the event kicks off at the wonderful Curious Palette cafe, meaning you’ll also get to indulge in some lip-smacking lattes and Instagram-worthy berry ricotta hotcakes!

A Night at Varadero – A Cuban Festival in Singapore

Chill AF (Arts Fest): Music And Art Market

Why: Art and music - what more could you ask for? This epic one-day event brings together live music performances and artisanal goods, along with some delightful bites and thirst-quenching craft beers provided by Red Baron. Grab a few friends and join the fray, there’s plenty of trinkets and accessories to purchase (cash only, mind you), and lots of good tunes to tap your feet to.

The sunny island of Singapore is set to rock your world this week, with live music acts and fun weekend markets for all your friends and family.

If you’re a big softie for furry felines, make a beeline to the Pop-Up Cat Cafe at The Garden Slug this Sunday, where you’ll meet some adorable kitties from Love Kuching Project and get to stock up on some cat-related products. If that’s not really your cup of tea, perhaps you’d be more inclined to indulge in a good cup of coffee and some delectable pastries. Candour Coffee is having its grand opening tonight (21 July) and it will be the perfect opportunity for you to turn a new place into a regular haunt in the near future.

Got a real penchant for flowers? The Singapore Garden Festival kicks off this weekend at Gardens by the Bay – you’ll want to feast your eyes on the magnificent floral displays, enjoy the live entertainment, and maybe grab a few souvenirs.
