Kranji Countryside Farmer’s Market
When: Saturday; 24 June; 12pm onwards

Where: The Kranji Countryside Association

Why: This Saturday, grab the family and head to Kranji to explore the freshest selection of locally grown crops, as well as a smorgasbord of artisanal food made right here in Singapore. The Farmer’s Market is held quarterly, so don’t be saddened if you can’t make it to the upcoming one as more will be right around the corner! Side note: if you aren’t driving to the event, there’s a shuttle bus departing from Kranji MRT so keep a lookout for that!

Yummy Food Expo 2017
When: Thursday to Saturday; 22 June to 25 June; 11am to 10pm

Where: Singapore EXPO

Why: Singapore may be big, but one thing we can definitely agree on is exactly how much we love food. And when it comes to food expos, we are even more in love. Come along to the Yummy Food Expo of 2017! With free daily admission, you'll be exposed to a variety of mouthwatering food that will be sure to tempt your tastebuds and keep you sticking around for awhile. With a wide variety of food like salted egg yolk snacks and durian dishes, you know you’re in for a treat!

String Garden: A Parent-Child Kokedama Workshop
When: Thursday; 29 June; 10.30am to 12.30pm

Where: Plain Vanilla Bakery

Why: Jump on the bandwagon and embrace the Japanese art trend with this kokedama workshop, where you'll learn to make little moss balls that will add a little greenery to your life without taking up too much space. For two hours, discover the secret to creating your little kokedama and learn how to care for your little garden with your child, before bringing it home and making it a family project. Held at Plain Vanilla Bakery, watch as your favourite cafe is brought to life with this intriguing workshop!

Why: On the last Friday of the month, why not truly let your hair down with yet another installment of SUB CITY? A night filled with good music for that much needed pick-me-up, find yourself jamming to tunes by the city’s best DJs like STEW BAMRAH from Sideshow, SENJA, and KANE MC & KIAT that will last you through the wee hours of the night.

Blue Beauties Floral Botanical Art Workshop At Pollen
When: Sunday; 25 June; 2.30pm to 5pm

Where: Pollen Terrace, Flower Dome

Why: Gardens by the Bay isn’t just a place to look at pretty flowers anymore. Join other like-minded creatives in this art and tea workshop held within the Flower Dome and learn how to draw the blue beauties that surround you, like hydrangeas and delphiniums. After creating a masterpiece, have a drink and some sweet treats before you head off to explore the Flower Dome to end that session beautifully.

Kilo Cooking Beats—Raíces with Tim Ross-Watson

Where: 66 Kampong Bugis, Level M, Singapore 338987

Why: This is the fifth installment of Cooking Beats, an event where you get to experience the mindset of the different chefs who are brought into the spotlight. From the food to the differing components within the meals, get an inside look at the culture and background that has shaped the cooking styles of the featured chef. This particular Cooking Beats focuses on Tim Ross-Watson, who started his culinary journey at the tender age of five and has never ceased to amaze from then on out!

Why: If you’ve flipped through Alvin Mark Tan’s sketchbook of the coffee culture in Singapore, aptly titled La Kopi, then you are going to love this book signing and discussion session as he visits the different cafes around the island. Having spent time in Italy where the coffee culture is as (if not more) prevalent, he explores the differences between the two countries and shares his experience with the very beverage that makes both countries.
