Hair cutting

STEVEN LAUDAT’S ANSWER

If it is too blunt and you lose bounciness, go back to the hairdresser and get it layered. Do the same if it is too long. Don’t straighten your hair if you want to hide badly coloured patches. Better to avoid overlapping too much gaps between the gradient and length, until the roots have grown out.

If the strands around your face are too short, you can, for example, twist them and clip with bobby pins. Your hair is smooth? Wave them back slightly. The wavy effect will camouflage them.

STÉPHANE BAUDIN’S ADVICE

If hair is shoulder-length or squared, the faults are more obvious. By creating movement and imitating wild hair, others will be distracted away from the poorly structured aspect of the haircut. Otherwise, have some braids, or make use of fasteners and clips. Short hair, meanwhile, can hide the patches in a dressy braid. Wear turbans or scarves. In all cases, when you go to the hairdresser, do not ask for cuts that are too blunt. Go for something slightly tapered to a more natural look.
