Mane Mistakes: Keep your natural curls while blow-drying

“I asked the hairdresser to keep my natural curls but he blow-dried them out, and then used a curling iron. What a shame! Especially since the loops have not even straightened out,” Celine, 37.

STÉPHANE BAUDIN’S SOLUTION

The express option (let’s say you leave the hairdresser and follow up with a dinner afterwards) is to wet your hands and smooth them through your hair until the natural loops pop out. If you have a tube of moisturiser in your bag, squeeze a little onto your palm and work it into the roots to sheathe the hair. If, however, you have time on your hands, repeating with shampoo is ideal. Wring most of the water out and let your hair air dry. Otherwise, use a diffuser, and put a little oil on the tips afterwards. The habit to banish: the conventional hair dryer with a nozzle, on maximum power.
