With the opening of the brand new flagship store in Capitol Building, we’ve decided to warm up Sulwhasoo’s treatment rooms by giving their facials a whirl! Here’s our verdict.

As a big fan of the Korean holistic beauty brand, I was thrilled to see the first Sulwhasoo flagship store in the ASEAN region open its doors last month in Singapore. And truth be told, I couldn’t wait to try their signature facials straightaway – which is exactly what I did.

Right from the start, the boutique’s quaint interior provided a welcome escape from the busy road outside and set me right in the mood for relaxation. Sipping on a cup of Ginseng tea was all I needed to get ready for what was coming next.

Choosing the facial

Before I headed to the treatment room, the beauty consultant introduced me to the variety of facials on offer and recommended the one which seemed to address my concerns the most. As my skin was tired and lacking some moisture and radiance, I chose to go with the Hydro-aid Purifying Facial Treatment, which is one of the two facials offered exclusively at the boutique.

Other treatments included the Essential Hydrating Care Facial Treatment which is recommended for those who need a quick pick-me-up and uses Sulwhasoo’s Essential Line and paper mask.

The experience

Guiding me to one of the treatment rooms in the boutique, my beauty therapist, Evonne was keen to explain what to expect and answer any questions I had about this particular treatment.

Starting off with the cleansing ritual and topped with the First Care Activating Serum EX, I instantly recognised the herbal smell of the must-have product which I swear by and that familiarity helped me relax and trust that I’m in the right hands – and at the right place.

Then came my favourite part – the massage. By using herbal oil on my face and going over it with a skin-purifying White Porcelain Facial Tool to further massage it in, this was definitely the highlight of the treatment. A deep hydrating mask followed, which was left on my face for 15 minutes while I nodded off thanks to being enveloped by the heavenly smell.

Finishing off, my skin was cleansed once again and left with layers of serum and moisturizer to seal the deal.

The result

As I walked out of the treatment room, I was led to a vanity counter to top up with Sulwhasoo’s makeup. As much as I’m a big fan of their cushion, for once I felt I wanted to keep my skin bare as it felt and looked great.

Radiant, deeply moisturised and supple, my newly-found glow lasted me for a week where even long hours of work and little sleep didn’t manage to dull it. Following up with my Sulwhasoo skincare routine, I managed to prolong the effect for even longer – just long enough until I was tempted to go for my second round.

There’s always a reason to go in for seconds.

The Hydro-aid Purifying Facial Treatment (SGD120, 60 minutes) is available exclusively at Sulwhasoo Boutique, Capitol Singapore, #01-72/73, 15 Stamford Road. The facial was sponsored by Sulwhasoo. For more information about their outlets and products please visitwww.sulwhasoo.com.sg.
