Life in Singapore is summed up in these hilarious tweets with the hashtag #5WordSingaporeStories.

Following the highly popular #GrowingUpSingaporean hashtag last month, Singaporean netizens are at it again, this time, with the hashtag #5WordSingaporeStories started by popular local blogger, Mr Brown (@mrbrown).

The hashtag has since blown up on Twitter with Singaporeans sharing everything about life in the tiny island nation, from their undying love for food, to popular Singlish phrases and their love-hate relationship with public transport – breakdowns included.

A read through the #5WordSingaporeStories tweets had us doubling over in laughter and nodding our heads in agreement and thus, we thought we’d share some of the best 5 word stories with you. It’s also probably the most succinct way to celebrate Singapore’s glorious SG50.
