In some instances, the glamorous clothes and accessories aren’t the only stars on the runway.

It’s evident that architecture has a profound influence on fashion, often spotted in geometric cuts, minimalistic lines and architectural folds in clothing. But the symbiosis doesn’t end there.

Not only do they unleash full creativity in planning a conceptual setting, but provide a whole other atmosphere during the shows. Designers have departed from mediocre convention halls and warehouses to show their covetable collection, with the most recent instances being Dior’s Cruise 2016 show at the otherworldly Palais Bulles in Cannes, and Louis Vuitton‘s at the futuristic Bob and and Dolores Hope Estate in Palm Springs. Meanwhile, an eager Pierre Cardin team travelled all the way to China’s Dunhuang desert for their Spring 2008 collection and it’s hard to imagine what can top the phenomenal scene.

With such awe-inspiring venues, it’s not just the glamorous clothes and dreamy shoes to take centre stage. In case you’re curious, and we bet you are, our gallery has a collection of 5 such places. Flip through the pictures and witness how fashion and architecture collide in beautiful harmony.
