Modeled by real New Yorkers, DKNY’s RTW collection is an absolute definition of chic streetwear.

DKNY has typically held a rather urban eclectic vibe that resonates with the streets of New York. The Fall 2014 collection was no stranger to that design vision with houndstooth prints, bomber jackets, puffer coats, lace mini dresses and varsity jackets that were emblazoned with a bold D for Donna.

While the collection remained true to its DNA and reflected the very essence of New York City living, the designs were not particularly new. However, the diverse group of models – some of which were cast from the real world – who stormed down the runway truly brought the show to fruition. Styled with undercuts, blue braids, dreadlocks and tattoos, the models were unleashed onto the runway in DKNY’s platform chelsea boots and creepers.

Our personal favourites in the collection include the irregularly placed houndstooth printed shirt and asymmetrical dress, black and striped shearling coats and indubitably the pink and grey lace dresses.

The label gives a certain level of credibility and sophistication to streetwear and proves that it doesn’t have to look unwelcome or unruly. Ultimately, these contemporary designs are here to stay and will continue to rule the streets of the Big Apple – whether they suit your taste or not.

To further elevate DKNY, the brand announced a new collaboration with fashion’s favourite model, the spunky Cara Delevinge. In a collection of 15 pieces ranging from crop tops to pantsuits to bomber jackets, Delevingne aims to bring her personal rad attitude to the edgy label. The collection will be available online at DKNY.com and in select stores come November. So if you’ve been gunning for a piece of Cara, this is where you need to start at!
