Hijarbie: This Barbie Instagram account is making waves online
Barbie dressed in some fashionable modest clothing is the best thing we’ve seen so far.
It seems like more and more people are turning to the iconic Barbie doll to reflect more realistic body images or different style options. For one, Haneefah Adam, a 24-year-old from Nigeria, is decking out her Barbie’s in some remarkably fashionable threads for the modest Muslim woman – with the blond locks wrapped up in a hijab of course.
Aptly titled, @Hijarbie, the Instagram account features the doll in various outfits that were all made by Adam herself. Initially starting the account as an outlet for her creativity, to have a mini her of sorts, it has grown to deliver awareness of hijab fashion.
And if you’re wondering whether you can get the outfits for your own Barbie, rest your minds because Adam is seriously working on shipping the clothes out soon.
