At 82 year’s old, the world’s oldest model and fashion’s most eminent name is set to take the Singapore stage with impressive furor.

One of the biggest points of contention in the fashion and beauty industry has always been about under-aged models – the younger the better it seems. However, when there are stunning older models who can do just as good a job, we don’t see why the industry is so averse to embracing the graceful beauties.

Carmen Dell’Orefice proudly dismisses all these naysayers with her illustrious career as a fashion model for over 60 years. At 82 years old, the grande dame has a slew of accolades to show, including landing her first Vogue US cover at 16. From then on, opportunities flooded in from every direction. Other than having modeled for noted photographers and brands like Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano, she currently continues to beautifully front the campaign for luxury watchmaker, Rolex.

The biggest news is yet to come. Following from her last runway appearance at New York Fashion Week 2013, the exquisite and effortlessly remarkable luminary is set to take the stage at Singapore’s upcoming Digital Fashion Week 2014. Honoured probably doesn’t live up to our exact thoughts here but speechless we are indeed.

Dell’Orefice enthused, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this exciting fashion event and collaborating with Singaporean designer Max Tan. In doing so, we have become ambassadors for our countries, cultures, and decades.”

International legend with a talented local designer, we couldn’t dream of a more sublime collaboration!

Digital Fashion Week 2014 will be held from 31 October to 3 November. More details to be released soon.
