With elements inspired by the 60s and 70s, Stacey Bendet never fails to impress with her nifty design fingers in her latest collection.

Alice + Olivia, a brand beloved to celebrities like Katy Perry and Gwyneth Paltrow has launched their brand new FW 2015 collection. Evident from the colour scheme, the latest range is inspired the style of the late 60s and 70s in swinging London as well as by the legendary rock band, The Rolling Stone.

With several sweeping maxi coats and rich, red hues contrasted with a few romantically elegant monochromatic pieces, let’s just say it’s absolutely stunning.

The collection is generally quite effeminate with garments mostly consisting of dresses, skirts and short shorts. However, it has a few outfits with very striking ensembles featuring sharp, angled silhouettes, and dark colours, to achieve a classy, androgynous effect. While they are set apart very clearly from the other outfits, they nonetheless complement each other sublimely.

A notable feature of this collection is the return and reimagining of the thigh high boot. Possibly one of the trickiest kind of footwear to look classy, designer Stacey Bendet did it with incredible aplomb. Almost all of the gorgeous outfits in this latest collection are paired with a pair of black, leather thigh high or above knee boots.

Some of these pieces also feature phenomenally intricate embroidery and appliqué. The embroidered dress that was paired with the relatively plain long black coat is exquisite in a pale gold, shimmery fabric, reflecting light like a precious gem.

The silhouette is reminiscent of shift dresses that were all the rage back in the 70s, but now with a regal, gold pattern. There are also some mod prints and floral jacquards prints dropped here and there, balancing out the relatively dark ensembles. Also, in this collection, the necklines are either high or plunging and there are rarely any in-betweens.

Now, if you still need reason to join the Alice + Olivia camp, we bet this collection should do the trick.
