Singaporean label, Noel Caleb tells consumers to stop and reflect with its latest monochromatic collection, Mirror.

After a slew of collections oozing with sprightly colours and quirky cuts, the 3-year-old label, Noel Caleb, took on a more pared down approach with its latest collection, Mirror.

The collection is conceptually driven by the reflective nature of a mirror and aims to garner a state of regular soul-searching. While coming up with the concept, the designers behind Noel Caleb spent time with patients from the St. Andrew’s Autism Centre and the Red Cross where the team got an opportunity to stop and reflect through the eyes of the less fortunate. Additionally, a percentage of the proceeds from this collection will also be donated to the St. Andrew’s Autism Centre.

As for the collection itself, it is largely dominated in a monochrome vein of blacks, whites, greys and a striking shade of maroon, only to culminate in intriguing geometrical silhouettes reminiscent of glass shards. Essentially, there exists a bold juxtaposition of lines, creating a rather compelling look bound to raise some eyebrows and start social conversations.

The unique designs may not pander to everyone’s sartorial preferences but there is one sure staple we’d love to own – the edgy Ezekiel skirt that beautifully melds rectangles and triangles into one brilliant angular shape. Pair this with a loose fitting camisole and you’ve got yourself one effortless summer look.

Noel Caleb has come a long way since its inception and it’s a label that yearns to bring together like-minded individuals in their quest to running a fashion business or simply to be a part of the brand’s journey. Rather than aligning itself to the exclusive nature of the fashion industry, it is refreshing to see a local label priding itself for being inclusive.

Bursting with creative energy, we can’t wait to see what is next for this label!
