Inspired by the sheer vibrancy of a tropical adventure, the Spanish label, Bimba Y Lola’s SS15 collection has us dreaming of a vacation to Brazil.

The Spanish label, Bimba Y Lola, has the winning formula perfected – relatively accessible price points, easy silhouettes and quirky designs – to brandish itself as a successful brand on the meteoric rise. Founded by sisters, Uxia and Maria Dominguez, the brand relishes in creating exuberant designs that adeptly celebrates the hyperculture – where rapid societal changes give rise to new cultural elements.

For its Spring/ Summer 2015 collection, Bimba Y Lola took to the vibrant and equally rapturous Brazil to paint their canvas with. By referencing the country’s carnivals, mixed-race cultures and resplendent beaches, the collection naturally sees itself plastered with tropical landscapes, wildlife and flavourful fruits. Additionally, the prints celebrate the spirited style of the stunning Carmen Miranda, a well-known samba dancer and actress, who was mostly seen with her signature fruit hat.

While the concept may be bursting at the seams with life and energy, the clean, minimalistic lines create an elegant and soothing balance for the wandering eye. The dynamism continues with the combination of neoprene and stretch cotton fabrics gracing the looks.

In an effort to further marry opposing elements, you’ll find muted shades of white, pastels and beige punctuated with sunny yellows, sea blues and dark maroons in a blend of colour block geometric prints. Look closer and you’ll even find the images of women printed onto tops to represent the exotic and flamboyant Tropicana woman.

From dresses, swimsuits to billowy skirts and structured jackets, this fiesta of a line up has all that you need for an escape to a summer time rendezvous – one that involves music festivals, carnivals and endless stretches of beaches of course.

Now how about that caipirinha or sangria to accompany your shopping?
