Not sure how to express your patriotism – and sense of style – this National Day? We’ve got just the thing for you.

Vintage, kitschy, classic, nostalgic… call it what you want but with the Golden Jubilee fast approaching, we can’t help but get in a patriotic mode and try to show our love for Singapore in any way possible – even with our fashion choices.

While the ‘I love Singapore‘ t-shirt beloved by tourists might have sufficed in the past, many local designers are jumping on the bandwagon and creating some truly cool accessories to celebrate this National Day (aka SG50)  -and beyond – without sacrificing the sartorial sense. And Naiise, the local design portal, has managed to compile the best of them.

From necklaces featuring Potong Red Bean, Lapis Kueh to cute as a button rings and stud earrings in shape of Pandan cake and pineapple tarts – it is no surprise that food is featured heavily when it comes to representing the red dot. As they say, we are a nation of foodies and we can’t deny that.

So if you feel like dolling up in an unusual yet celebratory fashion, these cutesy tongue-in-cheek items might just do the trick. Better yet, they scream ‘I love Singapore’ without spelling it out!
