Who knew mesh would now be your go-to vacation outfit detail? Get ready for some fun in the sun with our best tropical picks.

Usually associated with sportswear, mesh probably isn’t what you’d pick for your tropical vacation. But at closer inspection, the perforated fabric is exactly what you might need for a sunny destination – lightweight, perfect for hot weather, and just the right amount of sexy.

For starters, pick a romper or shirt dress with mesh panels to effortlessly incorporate the daring fabric into your wardrobe. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a full mesh dress as a cover-up for the beach with a printed bikini or matching mesh bralet underneath. Otherwise, easy, short silhouettes will no doubt make for a playful vibe that’s ready to take on the holiday mood head on.

At the end of the day, the relationship between mesh and fashion is one that’s not going to break apart anytime soon. So in extension to accessories, keep the sun away with a wide-brim hat and ensure your scalp feels the summer breeze with the nifty mesh detail. When indoors, throw the hat into a spacious, bright-coloured tote, put on your best patterned sandals and you’ll be a summer’s dream!

Just remember to never over do the mesh in one outfit – you don’t want to resemble a net.
