Wear a sweater for the cold office and you’ll be sweating in the outdoor heat, but wear a sleeveless top and you’ll be freezing at your cubicle! Read on for our guide to ‘transitional’ dressing for both the office and outdoors.

Dressing for the office might sometimes leave you feeling conflicted – how do you brave the heat during lunch while staying cosy at your cubicle, with the building’s air conditioning? Gear up, because this is as close as we’ll ever get to transitional dressing in Singapore.

Make sure the very foundation of your outfit is summer-friendly. Thin, lightweight materials would do you good while you’re on your morning commute, or for making your way to the nearest hawker centre at lunch time. Next, bust out your best outerwear – you must have had a good reason to buy them, right? Where else would you wear your cardigans and blazers if not in the freezing-cold office? Just make sure that what you have on hand is versatile and can match anything you wear underneath, whether it’s printed, in a bright colour or unique texture.

Look through our picks in the gallery above for some chic items and more tips that will solve your multi-temperature styling conundrums.
