Summer Flop: 5 Fashion faux pas to avoid at the beach
updated the 6 October 2015 à 22:53Those who say that summer is synonymous with total freedom, stop right there! Before you go to the beach, a small guide is a must to avoid all the fashion no-nos.
If you’re about to pack your suitcase or already taking off for the beach, here’s a list of five fashion missteps that deserve punishment and a supreme penalty.
COMPLICATED SWIMSUITS
You’ve seen them in magazines and yes they’ve had their moment as a trend; but no, the trikinis and other strange suits are not a good option for the beach. Besides having to sport a zero-defect body, you’ll also want to skip on the tanning unless you want to look like you spent your holidays on a barbecue grill.
TOO MUCH JEWELLERY
Opt for simple accessories for the beach. A single golden gem is enough to light up your tan with subtlety. If you can’t do without them, just keep the more glitzy accessories for the evening.
CROCS
These shoes would at first seem like they’re heaven sent. They may be comfortable, breathable, waterproof and colourful, but they will never compliment any style or trend (unless you work the look and prove us wrong!).
AS MUCH MAKEUP AS KIM KARDASHIAN
For those of you who would be tempted to succumb to the lure of contouring, stop. Summer is a sacred moment to let go and savour everything; know how to do it with simplicity. Work the natural beauty trend by combining nude complexion and sexy, tousled hair.
HEELS
You’re at the beach, not in Cannes! Leave your heels in the locker room and put on your best sandals. You’ll have the rest of the year to torture your feet.
